I cannot believe this.

2am to 4am, 11pm to 1 am=sleep time over selection camp from Monday to Wednesday.
Now, some highlights.
Night Hunt was the essence of sheer brillance of Greg, Yi Da and I that wiped out the juniors. I came out with the riddles (that tell you where to go), Yi Da the tricky questions on school history, and Greg pasted the questions. Yi Da's work was nicely done--seemingly simple, and look at the screwed scores! I have to take my hat of to Greg. The questions were pasted at places were you would never be able to envision. Had to request for time extension for them, if not ah, gone.
Jack Huang's alarm clock was of fine taste and simply exquisite--clean, classic and coated with a layer of gold.
Unfortunately, it failed to serve its basic function as an alarm clock, that is to RING at 4am to wake the juniors up. They were supposed to find themselves trapped and await the other team to aid them. In the end,
Erik had to wake them up and tell them what was happening. Well, they proceeded with the tough games till 645, and I spent some time sharing with the juniors on their performance and more importantly, on council matters...
Amazing Race: tagged along with the Flight as they went on their journey to complete the stations.
In order to accomplish the noble task of developing resilience and fortitude in Councillors, I had to take pains to employ a plethora of sinister, inhumane and torturous activities along the way. Due to the unhealthy and violent nature of these activities I shall not attempt to describe them here.
We were at this shopping complex before Heeren, opposite Somerset MRT, when I decided that before they proceeded to the next station, they had to either: 1. Find me a CO CD, or, 2. Tell me what epinephrine is.
"Is epinephrine related to Bio?" "I think its a chemical or something" Some juniors were saying.
Oh no.
In less than 10 minutes they were at a bookshop reading the definition out loud to me with such glee in their eyes.
I was pissed.
"Wah, so fast ah, not bad eh, now I want you to find me a CO CD as well"
In less than a minute they got me one.
Apparently, their 地理位置 was 得天独厚.
The CD shop was right beside the bookshop. And man, they actually appreciate CO music.
"Liang Zhu leh, Liang zhu leh!"
...
But of course, 道高一尺,魔高一丈,eventually I got them to find the full name of the term "NADH", which heavily costed them an hour before I allowed them to call their Bio teachers.
Not before they did a Raffles cheer at Paragon.
Sad to say, after completing the station at PS, the next station was at Far East. Did I mention that no public transport was allowed?
Sat in the interview panel from 1am all the way to 6am, assessing all the candidates. Very, very interesting.
On the whole, I cannot concur more wuth Yi Da that this is a pyscho more than a physio camp. It is obvious that those who think too much, try to think ahead or fake things out will not have much peace in this camp. Come on, the team of Senior Councillors were smart and sharp to see through stuff. And like what we have said, it doesnt mean that if you are a councillor you will definitely get a place in, and it doesn't mean that if you aren't you won't. Your performance at the camp was important.
Well, the view and experience at the top of the clock tower is...really beyond words. Its a really nice conclusion to my four years at chinese high. I feel complete as a chinese high student. Went up 3 times, and each time was a totally refreshing and even historic experience...
And when you look up at the night sky at such hours of 3am, 4am in school, the melody of xingkong just plays in your mind...very touching. Yes, this is one of the levels of my interpretation of xingkong...
At the end of the camp, I met tangc on the way and went back to CO to see the turnout rate after camp. It was surprisingly good, and there were improvements! Enjoyed talking for quite some time to the juniors...havent done so for quite some time...haha
As I was walking from MPH to the carpark, looking at the concourse, proed room, passing by the sec 3 blocks which will be full of cheers next week, savouring on the chat i had at MPH...a tinge of sadness came back to me again, which I thought I had overcome.
A heartfelt thanks to Yi Da, Erik, Eric, Yuan Jun, Lu Jie, Kai Han, Bing Qian, Ruixiong, Gregory and Jack. Its the last time we as Councillors would have worked together. We might meet up again for tea next year, have outings, chalets, etc, but the feeling will never be the same again.
Its time for us to move on. We have our paths ahead, and things that we have to do.
To my dear juniors in CO and Council, take care. Keep the Hua Zhong Spirit blazing and alive always.
I have faith in you all.
I feel accomplished.
That night while I was fervently practising at a room in NAFA, Zhan Lao Shi suddenly walked into my room and said: "你这个也真是的,笛子协会演出你一点也不出力退票!"
I was stunned.
"老师我...不是的...可以的...这,这好说..."
Previously I told him that I did not want to sell any tickets but would do a terrific job as a backstage manager on the day of the dizi concert. In other words, 出力不出钱。
But apparently not selling tickets to him meant not "exerting strength".
“你要几张?"
"我...我...这个...."
"十张你先拿去。就这样。"
"......."
I stood rooted, jaw dropped, and stared blankly, 10 tickets fresh in my hand, dizi in another, which was dripping profusely with amylase.
If I practice more often in MPH I am sure the starch left over from MAF 2003 would be rid of.
And that was how I ended up with 10 tickets for a dizi concert this Sunday. The concert consists of young aspiring dizi players, with 2 dizi masters from China plus Zhan Lao Shi. As I am not going to be a professional player, I am not performing.
But that is not all.
I was busy with other stuff these few days and did not actively, seriously, passionately promote these tickets.
And that is all.
Yesterday Zhan Lao Shi asked me after the masterclass on the progress of the tickets.
I was stunned.
"什么?还没卖完?!你这么这样的?卫老师说华初那没卖!我发现你好像不是很会卖票!"
"........"
“老师我还在卖!能卖的!”
"我这还有17张票,你给我拿去!"
"好的,好的...."
.......
I stood rooted, jaw dropped, and stared blankly, 17 tickets fresh in my hands, amylase dripping profusely from the side of my mouth.
And that was how I ended up with TWENTY-SEVEN TICKETS.
I told ben ang to leave immediately after the masterclass. He insisted on talking to the dizi master on how we fared (both he and I soloed a piece for the masterclass) and how to make quantum leaps in our skills.
I ended up with quantum leaps in the number of tickets I have.
1 late step for me, a giant leap in the number of tickets I have.
No this is not moon.
I got pissed.
Nu Fa Chong Guan.
I asked Ben And whats the response from Raffles family and it was good. What about Hwa Chong? None! How can this be!
I devoted the whole of today to actively, seriously, passionately promote tickets to various groups of people. And please, dont ever think I appeal to sympathy to sell those tickets away. I don't. I use zhen cai shi liao. I tell you that this is really a good concert. No joke.
At last, I am left with 2 tickets, and waiting for more replies.
To those who supported and bought from me (oh yeah, I was rather surprised when Sua Yu actually bought a ticket! BSP must have made miracles!) , a very big thank you. I know you may not be interested totally in the concert but you still bought them...really, thanks.
To adapt from a quote I heard recently,
"你们是最好的买票人民,你们是最伟大的买票人民!“
No, this isn‘t the Taiwanese post elections.
